Bristol Community College is proud to share that Beta Eta Phi, the ³¦´Ç±ô±ô±ð²µ±ð’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, has achieved a 5-star status. A 5-star status is the highest level of achievement that a chapter can attain for their participation in local, regional, national, and international activities.
The chapter earned its stars after completing several requirements, including a college project and research project designed to serve the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø community. For their college project, PTK students evaluated the impact of µþ°ù¾±²õ³Ù´Ç±ô’s screening of the documentary Dawnland, featured during November’s Native American Heritage Month. Students gathered feedback from attendees, tabulated results and presented their findings to the ³¦´Ç±ô±ô±ð²µ±ð’s equity council. For their research project, students researched the efficacy of a student lounge in increasing student engagement on campus. PTK students then used the collected data to set up a pilot student lounge during the week of final exams in December 2023.
is the international honor society of two-year colleges and has encouraged scholarship among community college students for more than 100 years, while promoting the academic integrity of the associate degree program. The honor society provides opportunities for scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service.
